Not all material delivery is the same — and when precision spreading matters, belly dump trucks have a distinct advantage. At Moore Excavating, we use belly dump trucks for jobs that require controlled, even distribution of aggregate, road base, or other granular materials across a work area.
Unlike rear-discharge trucks, belly dumps release their load from a clamshell opening on the underside of the trailer while the truck is in motion. This allows material to be spread in a long, even windrow as the truck drives forward — dramatically reducing the time and equipment needed to spread and grade the material afterward.
This makes belly dumps an excellent choice for road construction and road base installation, sub-base preparation for parking lots and driveways, pipeline and utility trench backfill, and large area grading and pad prep. The efficiency of a belly dump can save significant time compared to dumping material in piles and then grading it out — and time saved is money saved on your project.
Moore Excavating leverages belly dump capabilities alongside our grading and compaction equipment to deliver a seamless workflow. Material arrives on site already pre-spread, and our operators can move directly to grading and compaction without an extra handling step.
